Just a little bit of history about Turbochargers. Turbochargers were first developed by an engineer in Switzerland named, Alfred Buchi. His idea did not take off for about 10 years until it was used on 2 German ships. The Turbochargers worked so well that it lead to the introduction and success of the Turbocharger. Reference
